Link Preview API
Page updated
The Link Preview API will fetch a public URL and return the title, description, and image that the page publishes in Open Graph or standard HTML meta tags. It is coming soon on RapidAPI.
It does not run the page in a browser, so a client-rendered preview can come back empty. The image in the response is the URL the page names, not a screenshot.
Who it is for
Developers who want a preview card for a public link without rendering the page in a browser.
- Show a title and description when a user pastes a public URL into your product.
- Store the Open Graph image URL a page declares.
- Fall back to the HTML title and meta description when Open Graph tags are missing.
- Reject non-public URLs before they ever reach the fetcher.

FAQ
Which tags does it read?
Open Graph title, description, image, and site name when they exist. Otherwise the HTML title and the meta description.
Why might the preview be empty?
The page may set its tags in the browser after load. This API does not run JavaScript, so those tags are invisible to it.
Does it download the image?
It returns the image URL. It does not rehost the file.
Is there a price?
Not yet. Billing will be on RapidAPI when the API is listed.
Can I pass a file or a data URL?
No. The input is one public web URL.
There is no listing button yet. This tool is still marked coming soon.
