AI training jobs for management consultants

· By Alex Westfield / Micro1 Partner

Short answer: AI labs want their models to reason through business problems the way a strong consultant would. They pay former consultants to grade the answers and write better ones. Other roles pay people to rebuild executive slides. On Oct 16, 2026 micro1 lists 4 consulting and presentation roles with listed pay of $150 to $350 an hour, all remote contract roles.

What the work involves

The Management Consultant posting says micro1 is "partnering with a leading AI lab" to bring on former consultants. You use structured problem solving, business analysis and sharp writing to judge how AI models handle complex business problems. The tasks are:

The other three roles are about slides. Consulting Specialist, Finance Specialist and Brand & Creative Strategy Expert are all executive presentation review roles. You get a business slide, rebuild it in PowerPoint, and improve its structure, data visualization and action titles. The brand role asks you to keep a change log that explains each decision, including choices to leave something as it is. It expects each slide in 1 to 2 hours.

How the contract setup works

Every role on this page is a micro1 contractor role. You are not a micro1 employee. The postings list the location as remote and the work hours as flexible.

Applying is free. You sign up on micro1, upload a resume and do an AI interview. micro1 then matches people to customer projects as the projects open.

A match is not instant. Some people wait weeks. Some are never matched to a project. Pay is per hour worked, so your income depends on how many hours the project has. Keep your current work until you know what a project looks like.

Postings close and new ones open often. The rates and role counts on this page are a snapshot from the date at the top. The full roles list is updated more often than these guides.

How to apply, step by step

  1. Open the full roles list or the table on this page and pick a role that matches your background.
  2. Read the posting on micro1. Check the location rules and the qualifications before you start.
  3. Click Apply and create a free micro1 account. Upload your resume.
  4. Complete micro1's AI interview when it asks. It is a short recorded conversation about your experience. Do it somewhere quiet.
  5. Name your firm, your years there and your last title. For the slide roles, have a few sample decks ready to show, with anything confidential removed.
  6. Wait for micro1 to contact you about a match. Questions about your application go to micro1, not to this site.

If your background is banking, equity research or accounting, the finance guide lists more roles.

Is this a good fit for you?

It suits former consultants who left a firm and want flexible remote work that uses the same skills. It also suits people who are very good at clear slides. It is contract work. Hours come and go with the project, so treat it as side income until you see a steady flow of work.
